A simple fact: SONOMA COUNTY CALIFORNIA CURRENTLY HAS NO REPRESENTATIVE GORGEOUS COFFE TABLE PICTURE BOOK IN THE MARKETPLACE TO FULLY SHOWCASE OUR COUNTY!

486,000 residents, and millions of visitors each year and no all encompassing, widely distributed picture book depicting our beautiful area anymore. There are a few wine & recipe books, but no out-and-out heavy duty nature picture book. I want to change that, NOW... I just need a little help from a small number of you out there:

It will take $20,000 to create a brand new full-size Sonoma County Hardcover Picture Book. I can and will do that with your help.

This is what I'm working on right now and this will be the follow-up picture book to the one I produced in 1999, which is now out of print. I have secured printing prices that will allow me to produce these high quality books for just under $20,000, for an ample quantity.

96 to 128-pages (TBD) with a commitment to keep the retail price at $24.95 to $28.95 as encouraged by my numerous local retailers (70-90 accounts yearly) who have been very successful in consistently selling my Sonoma County Photo & Event Calendar these last 16 years. 9,000 to 13,000 copies of the calendar sell each year, in a quick 3-month time period during the holidays, one of longest running, highest volume regional calendars in existence!

So cut to the chase:

My goal is to bring in $20,000 in the next month-and-a-half to cover production costs via 5 methods, the quickest being securing a series of short term investments in $1,000 denonomations. I will be offering back a 10% return for 6 months for those 10 to 15 people that are able and interested in this investment.

While it is not that big an investment for some and a $100. return is pretty basic, the reatility is that is all it will take for us to have a brand new Hardcover picture book to share with the world, combined with a few of the other financing avenues listed below. It would be great to have some of you long time supporters to help out with this to fast-track the process and enjoy the knowledge of your participation to bring it to life....plus a generous thank you in the book....and your complimentary signed 4 copies! I will also begin pre-selling the book shortly via:

1) Individual direct pre-orders at a discounted rate

2) Retail stores advanced wholesale sales

3) Promotional book orders for business clients with customized wrap-around dust jackets featuring their businesses information on the covers. Please inquire for minimum quantities and costs.

4) Plus, for a limited time I will be offering licensed stock photographs via a set discount package program for up to 8 clients, for those who need photo use rights to some local images. Please inquire.

I will have a printed version of this sample book in early next week if anyone would like to take a look in person and discuss these possibilities.

My goal is to go to print by March 15th (the 24th anniversary date of launching myself in the world of freelance photography & publishing!) with the goal to have the new Sonoma County Hardcover book ready by my birthday in mid-June!
